Haikou Banana Hostel

Haikou Banana Youth Hostel is a small/medium sized hostel managed by an English man and his Chinese wife. Haikou Banana Youth Hostel is the first ever International Youth Hostel (IYH) opened by a foreigner in China. We are also the only IYH in Haikou. We offer a range of accommodation options including:

•    Double/Twin rooms
•    Triple rooms
•    Family rooms (1 double bed and 1 single bed and a small kitchen).

All of Haikou Hostel's rooms include private sink, toilet, shower and internet access. Rooms have either air-con or electric fan. We have both Western and Chinese style toilets. If you require anything different to the above options please let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs.

Haikou Hostel is situated in the north of Haikou, around a kilometer from the coast. Our location is well served by local transport and amneities. Within 100 metres you can find numerous eating establishments ranging from local seafood to KFC. Fresh and exotic fruit is sold on nearly every street corner. The bus stop on the opposite side of the road links with other areas of the city. There are many banks nearby that accept foreign visa bank cards, including a Bank of China. A few minutes walk away is 'bar street' where you can sit outside until the small hours in the temperate climate enjoying inexpensive local beer.
